The City of Topeka’s downtown parking enforcement will return to normal operations starting on Monday, June 1. It was suspended in March because of consequences caused by COVID-19 pandemic onset.

Normal operations will include:

  • On-street parking enforcement of timed zones and meters.
  • Hourly garage rates will reinstated to $1.00 per hour.
  • Normal monthly garage and surface lot permit rates will be charged.

Additionally, the 15-minute parking stalls established in front of restaurants to promote curbside carryout will be maintained to support both the restaurants, as well as the customers, and will be monitored and evaluated as needed.

How To Pay Your Parking Tickets

Parking meter fines can be paid online. Once on the payment site, a drop down list will appear and you can make your selection. The Parking Administrative Office is located at 620 SE Madison, on the 2nd floor.

The Administrative Section office is open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. Payments for parking garage space rentals, parking meter fines, and parking meter hooding invoices can be made in person during these hours.

Drop boxes are located at the following locations:

  • 200 E. 7th Street
  • 200 E. 8th Street
  • 901 S. Jackson, on the NW corner of 9th and Jackson
