The Topeka Fire Department is now accepting registration for written test scores from National Testing Network (NTN) for our upcoming hiring processes.
The next Topeka Fire Department new hire class will commence in October 2017.

The Topeka Fire Department will pay for an applicant’s first NTN examination, however, applicants must meet the criteria listed above. Test results will only be provided to the Topeka Fire Department.
Those candidates who pass the NTN written examination but do not meet all of the required criteria by August 14, 2017 will be placed on a list for future consideration. It will be the applicant’s responsibility to notify the City of Topeka when they achieve the required elements.
To receive a voucher, please complete the registration form below. Only those applicants who meet all of the requirements will receive a paid test voucher. Failure to complete the required information will result in no voucher being issued. Applicant’s providing false information will be eliminated from consideration for TFD employment.
Applicants must have a valid, current Kansas Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT), Paramedic certification or National Registry equivalent to take the NTN test. If National Registry certified, must be able to obtain Kansas certification prior to conditional offer of employment on August 14, 2017. Please

For those candidates who take and pass the written NTN entry-level firefighter written exam, TFD will pay for a candidate’s first CPAT examination fee. This does not cover the cost of practice tests, which are optional and so will be the responsibility of the applicant.
Candidate’s will be required to pay the CPAT test administration site directly for the CPAT test and once the test is completed, upon the submission of required reimbursement documentation, the candidate will be reimbursed for the test. The required reimbursement documents will be supplied to those candidates passing the written examination. The candidate will be reimbursed regardless of if they pass or fail the CPAT.
