The Forestry Section is responsible for the maintenance of trees on all right-of-ways within the City of Topeka. If you would like to request right-of-way tree care, please call 785-368-3111.

If this is a tree related emergency, Police Dispatch can be notified and a Forestry staff member will be contacted 24-7.

Topeka’s Biomass Recycling Center

The City also contracts with Garick Inc. for disposal and woodchip services, both for a fee. These chips can be used in the home landscape as mulch. Benefits from the use of wood chips as mulch include improved soil quality, better water retention, playground safety surface, and a microclimate that is more conducive to plant health. An attendant will be available to load chips for you.
