TPD Citizens Advisory Council

The Citizen’s Advisory Council (CAC) meets the third Thursday of the month from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Law Enforcement Center in Classroom A. The first 30 minutes of the meeting is open to the public.

About the Council

The Citizen’s Advisory Council (CAC) is a diverse group of 15 members who represent people from all areas and walks of life in the Topeka community. There is also age diversity, with the youngest member being 18 years old.

The purpose of the CAC is to meet with Topeka Police Chief Bill Cochran to discuss changes, new programs, and initiatives within the Topeka Police Department. The CAC is also an opportunity for members to give feedback, whether it is good or bad, about the direction the department is headed. The CAC gives Chief Cochran the opportunity to ask community members for ideas and input.

Meet the CAC members.
