Crimes That Can Be Reported Online
This electronic reporting solution is intended to be a convenient method for those who wish to report a low-level crime for issues such as insurance claims or reimbursement claims for lost funds. Once the report is approved and catalogued by our Records Room, you will receive a case number by email for your claim paperwork.
Please only use this method for non-violent, non-domestic crimes where
weapons were not involved. You may electronically report such crimes as:
- Lost or missing personal property
However, please call our department at 785-368-9551 if items have been left in your yard, such as a bike or gun. We will send someone to retrieve it and check it into our lost and found.
- Unlawful use of financial information (someone used your credit card or bank information to purchase goods or services)
- Identity Theft (someone used your personal information without your consent)
- Property damage under $1,000 in estimated value
- Theft of property outside your home under $1,000 in estimated value
(Burglaries to homes and theft of firearms, vehicles, ATVs, or boats must be reported directly to an officer by calling 785-368-9551.)
- Harassment by Telephone
If your house or vehicle have been damaged by a motor vehicle collision please call to request an officer to take the account in person as we may need to take measurements or photos of the damage to complete the report.
For all other reports, or if you’d prefer to speak to an officer directly, please call 785-368-9551.
