In-Person Comments. In-person comments will be considered at the public hearing on Thursday, August 18 at 5 p.m. at the Holliday Building. Individuals may appear in person or by Zoom. If appearing by Zoom, the individual must notify the City Clerk by 4 p.m. on August 18 so that communications staff can be notified to provide the Zoom link.
Comments shall be limited to 4 minutes. If the person requests additional time, one extension may be granted by the chairperson, not to exceed 2 minutes. Each person shall step up to the microphone and shall state his or her name for the record. All remarks shall be addressed to the Commission as a whole and not to any individual member.

A special meeting of the Governing Body has been called by Mayor Padilla on August 30, 2022, to conduct city manager interviews. The meeting will not be televised due to technical difficulties and there will be no public comment allowed at the meeting. SUBJECT: Executive Session for a period of time not to exceed 8 hours to interview four candidates for city manager as allowed under KSA 75-4319(b)(a). The following individuals will be present to aid in the discussion: Members of the Governing Body; City Attorney, Amanda Stanley; and the four candidates for City Manager: Mike Harmon, David Johnston, Abbe Yacoben and Stephen Wade.
The open meeting will resume at the completion of the executive session.

In addition to the interview panels, the candidates will also attend a public meet and greet. Community members are invited to attend the meet and greet, which will take place on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Bishop Professional Development Center located at 3601 SW 31st Street, Topeka, Kansas.
Light refreshments will be provided at the event.
Attendees will be able to provide feedback on the candidates to the Governing Body by filling out comment cards at the meet and greet, or by emailing comments to cmsearch@premierks.com.
