Zoological Park | Animals & Man
The Animals & Man building, opened in 1966 as the Large Mammal Building. While its inhabitants have changed over the decades, it currently is home to the Zoo's African Elephant, Asian Elephant, River Hippopotamus, Giraffes, Lemurs, African Crested Porcupines, Cranes and other smaller species.The zoo opened a new outdoor exhibit and pool in May 2004 for the zoo's hippos. This pool provides over 2,000 sq. ft. additional living space and a 28,000 gallon outdoor pool.
