For nearly 40 years, there has been a Chaplains Program at the Topeka Police Department. These men and women volunteer their time and services to serve and support the community and the employees of the Topeka Police Department.

There are eight chaplains who each have a duty week and provide support to officers and employees. The chaplain assists officers with making unattended death notifications; they will make hospital visits, provide reading material, perform memorial and wedding services if requested and provide counseling to employees and their spouses. For long-term problems, referrals are made.

If you have any questions about the Chaplains Program, please contact 368-9051 or e-mail chaplain@topeka.org.
