Police Department | Volunteer Program

Welcome to the Topeka Police Department Volunteer site!

Why Volunteer?
Law enforcement agencies struggle to meet ever-expanding community needs with limited financial resources.

VIPS LogoSince September 11th, this problem has intensified with the need to invest additional resources in homeland security efforts. Volunteers can fill critical gaps in program support and enhance services, enabling law enforcement agencies to respond effectively to expanding enforcement and policing priorities.

While law enforcement agencies are designed and staffed to provide appropriate policing and law enforcement services to the community, there is always more to do! Volunteers allow police officers to focus on policing and enforcement, and enhance the value and effectiveness of the police department.

Being a Volunteer provides a great deal of personal satisfaction and accomplishment!

As a Volunteer, you will meet new people and work with other dedicated volunteers and Police Department personnel who take pride in what they do and how they do it.

Stand up and be counted! You can make a difference!
