Permits are required to install or remove underground fuel tanks and/or associated product lines, pumps and vents.

Apply at Fire Prevention Division, 620 SE Madison, 3rd Floor, M-F 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.

Installation:

  • Provide documentation from KDHE. Phone: 785-842-4600
  • Provide tank specifications
  • Contact Fire Prevention to witness/inspect tank test and product line test
Removal:
  • Provide documentation from KDHE. Phone: 785-842-4600
  • Evacuate tank atmosphere per UFC
  • Provide approved relocation/disposal site
  • KDHE must test site for contamination after tank removal. 785-842-4600
  • Fire Prevention must confirm removal prior to back filling.
