The Contracts and Procurement Division provides an efficient, economical, and effective method of acquiring goods and services to meet the needs of our internal customers, while ensuring a fair and competitive bidding process involving all vendors: local, small business, minority, women owned, disadvantaged, large, state, and national. This is accomplished with 8 full-time employees under the supervision of the Director, Contracts & Procurement.
Tips on Doing Business with the City of Topeka:
- Be sure your firm's name is on the bid list with the correct class-item codes.
- Keep your application current with any changes.
- Familiarize yourself with the City's Vendor Guide.
- Read the bid documents thoroughly and follow all instructions, terms and conditions.
- Be sure the bid is submitted on or before the opening date and time.
- Be sure the envelope shows the bid number, opening date, and vendor name.
- Attend bid openings, if possible, to see what the competition is doing.
- Bid results are not given over the telephone.
- Visit, write, or call the Contracts and Procurement Buyers to learn of the City's needs and to introduce your company and products.
