The only area in Topeka where parking meters are installed is the Central Business District.
The City of Topeka provides and maintains 3,293 on-street parking spaces, 1,700 of which are metered. Updated September 19, 2001.

The time limit allowed at each parking meter is indicated by the color of the post or the color of the very top of the meter.
- Green = 1 hour time limit
- Gray = 2 hour time limit
- Blue = 4 hour time limit
- Yellow = 10 hour time limit
