Mechanical Inspection (What do we inspect?)
Mechanical inspections apply to the erection, installation, alteration, relocation, replacement, and addition to use or maintenance of any heating, ventilating, cooling, refrigeration systems, incinerators or other miscellaneous heat-producing appliances. These inspectors will include equipment utilized for both commercial and residential buildings. The City of Topeka is currently using the ICBO version of the 1997 Uniform Mechanical Code.

Office Hours
Mechanical Inspectors are available from 8:00 am to 9:00 am and 4:00 to 5:00 pm for technical assistance and questions concerning the 1997 Uniform Mechanical Code. Voice mail is available anytime.
