City Government Access Television Station Wins National Award
In September 2005 the City of Topeka received the prestigious "Excellence in Government Programming" award from NATOA, the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors.
The Award recognized excellence in broadcast, cable, multimedia and electronic programming produced by local government agencies. NATOA received over 1,000 entries from across the country in such categories as community events, documentary, Public Communications and service, interview/talk show, performing arts, sports, election coverage, and children’s issues.
Topeka was awarded third place in the nation in the category of “Excellence in Government Programming for jurisdictions with operating budgets of $100,000 to $250,000.”
NATOA is a non-profit professional association whose mission is to support and serve the telecommunications interests and needs of local governments. NATOA is made up of individuals and organizations responsible for or advising those responsible for telecommunications policies and services in local governments throughout the country.
