Old Prairie Town, 1st & Clay

Want to find out what it’s like to be an adventurous pioneer? If so, Old Prairie Town’s Blast from the Past summer camp is for you! Pioneers will go on age appropriate field trips each week. Summer Activities/Fieldtrips include: trips to Brown vs. Board of Education, Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library, swimming, various fieldtrips, scavenger hunts, games, and more.

Pioneers need to bring each daily: swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, lunch and a drink in a cooler (Refrigeration is not available).

2010 Schedule
  • June 7-11 Wild West Week
    Fieldtrips include: Worlds of Fun and movie
  • June 21-25 The Pony Express
    Fieldtrips include: Kansas City T-Bones Baseball Game and swimming at Lawrence Aquatic Center.
  • June 28-July 2 Adventures of a Pioneer
    Fieldtrips include: Kansas Speedway Tour and Laser Tag
  • July 12-16 The Gold Rush
    Fieldtrips include: National World War I Museum and College Basketball Experience at Sprint Center
  • July 19-23 Buffalo Bill Week
    Fieldtrips include Kansas City Zoo and bowling
  • August 2-6 Conquering the Frontier
    Fieldtrips include: Oceans of Fun and movie
Fees: $110 Topeka resident; $137.50 non-resident. Camp fee includes admission and transportation for daily activities and two daily snacks.

Drop off begins at 7:30am, van departs Old Prairie Town by 8:30am on fieldtrip days and will return by 4:30pm. Campers need to be picked up by 5:30pm. Space is very limited so call today to stake-your-claim. Please contact John Bell at 368-2437 or JBell@topeka.org for more information.
