Parks and Recreation | Softball Facilities
The City's many softball fields are available for public use or rent during park hours, daily between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. Softball fields are located at:- 2010 Ball Diamond Reservation Form

Gage Park - SW 10th and Gage
Gage Diamond #1 is a fenced field located nearest Gage Blvd and 10th street. It features silt infields, night-lights, and a paved parking lot. The fence is 285 feet into the outfield with bases set 65 feet from each other.
Gage Diamond #6 is located three blocks west of 10th and Gage and also features silt infields, night-lights, paved parking, and a fenced diamond. This field is smaller, with its fence 260 feet in the outfield. The bases are set apart both 60 and 65 feet. Restrooms and a shelter house are close by.
Felker Park - SW 25th and Gage Blvd
These four diamonds are nicely sized with fences 285 feet into the outfield and bases set 65 feet apart. All are lighted for night play. Felker Diamond #1 has a turf infield while #2 has an aglime infield. Felker Diamonds #3 and #4 are both silt infields. Not far from the fields are a paved parking lot, restrooms, a concession building, and a playground for children.
Crestview Park - SW Shunga Drive between Gage Blvd and Fairlawn on 27th Street.
This single fenced diamond features a silt infield, night-lights, bases set at 65 feet apart with fence located 285 feet into the outfield, restrooms, and a paved parking lot. A shelter house, playground, and Frisbee Golf course are nearby.
Major Palm Park - SW 37th and Garfield
The Major Palm softball diamond features a silt infield, night lights, fence set 285 feet into the outfield, and bases set 65 feet apart. There is also gravel parking, restrooms, and a playground for children.
Rueger Park - 28th and South Kansas Ave
The four lighted softball diamonds in Rueger Park feature turf infields, fences set at 300 feet into the outfield, bases set 65 feet apart, and spacious covered dugouts. The facility also contains asphalt parking, restrooms, and a concession building.
Santa Fe Park - in Oakland, at NE Division and River Rd
Diamond #1 has a fence 250 feet into the outfield, while diamond #2 has a fence at 255 feet into the outfield.
Both diamonds have silt infields, with night-lights, and bases set 65 feet apart. A short distance away are restroom facilities, a paved parking lot, and a playground for children.
Reservation Policies
- Diamonds will be reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning January 2nd each year, 8am to 5pm at Parks and Recreation of Topeka, located at 620 SE Madison.
- Reservations must be made in person.
- Reservation fee and deposit must be paid in cash, money order, personal or business check, Visa or MasterCard at the time of reservation.
- Diamonds must be reserved no later than Wednesday prior to a weekend tournament. Reservations after Wednesday won't be accepted without permission from the Softball Program Director.
- A diamond is not reserved until a Ball Diamond Reservation Form and a Hold Harmless Agreement are completed and signed by a Tournament Director.
- Fees must be paid prior to the completion of this contract.
- Tournament Directors who are planning on selling concessions must have approval from Parks & Recreation of Topeka.
- Tournament Directors must receive permission from Parks and Recreation of Topeka to charge admission fees. Notification of gate fees must be approved before Tournament Directors are allowed to initiate fees.
Diamond Rental Fees:
- Hourly- $25/hr resident, $31.25/hr non-resident, except Rueger Park which is not available for practices
- Daily- $75.00 resident, $93.75 non-resident, except Rueger Park, which is $85.00 resident, $105.00 non-resident
- Weekend- $150.00 resident, $187.50 non-resident, except Rueger Park, which is $170.00 resident, $210.00 non-resident
