Mission Statement: To provide a unique experience for children to learn valuable skills and make new friends through activities that are challenging, educational and down right fun. Camp will provide an opportunity for personal growth, self esteem and friendship building.

Summer is approaching and it is time to plan for an exciting season of fun and friends. Passport to Adventure is an outdoor camp designed around 11 different weekly themes that will keep campers interested and active all summer long. Every week campers will participate in a special event or take a field trip. Swimming every afternoon at Crestview Pool is always a favorite (weather permitting). There is NO DAILY BUS TRANSPORTATION to this camp. Camp dates: May 27-August 8. No camp: Monday, May 26 or Friday, July 4. Passport to Adventure is located in Crestview Park just west of the Crestview Community Center and is licensed by the State of Kansas. All participants will be required to have a completed Health History Form and an Emergency Care Form in order to attend the licensed program. Please go to www.topeka.org to download the necessary health forms. Additional paperwork and information will also be distributed at registration.

Campers will need to bring daily: Swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, lunch and a drink, in a cooler (refrigeration is not available).Two nutritional snacks, beverages and admission to special trips and tours is included in the fee.

Participants are offered two (2) options...
OPTION I ($90 per week Topeka Resident; $112.50per week non-resident): Campers may be brought to the Crestview Shelter House after 7:15 am and picked up NO LATER than 5:30pm There is NO BUS TRANSPORTATION FOR THIS CAMP. See Parent Handbook for further camp information.

OPTION II ($75 per week Topeka Resident; $93.75 per week non-resident): Children may be dropped off at 9:30am and picked up NO LATER than 4pm at the Crestview Shelter House. See Parent Handbook for further information.

Camp dates and themes:
May 27 - 30 “AND….THEY’RE OFF”
Get all revved up for a fun filled week of racing. What a way to start the summer off with high octane sports and games. Lace up your sneakers as we are going full throttle! We’re going to PutRN Drive! No camp on Monday, May 26.

June 2 - 6 ONCE UPON A TIME
Take a trip to a place back in time where Kings and Queens ruled the land, dancing gypsies filled the streets and knights fought for justice. Enjoy the week as our ladies and knights lead you in crafts, the jesters lead you in games and the musicians lead you in songs that are fit for a king.

June 9 - 13 THE YELLOW BRICK HIGHWAY
Grab your ruby red sneakers, add some courage, a brain and lots of heart as we pay tribute to “The Wizard of Oz”. We will be participating in activities that will get your brain and courage going. Get set for a magical journey.

June 16 - 20 TOPEKA 9-1-1
Discover first hand how rescues are accomplished. This will be an action packed week with the Topeka Police Department, Fire Department, Paramedics, Rescue dogs, K-9 patrol, Helicopter, Ambulance, American Red Cross and Lifeguards.

June 23 - 27 TROPICAL PARADICE Just imagine sitting on the beach, relaxing, taking in the sun, then SPLASH!! It is WATER WEEK! Take part in some wet, wild and crazy water games and projects. Family Night will be Friday, June 27.

June 30 - July 3 NATIONAL TREASURE
You might need to get your spy glasses ready, we will be looking for all types of Treasures during this week. We will challenge your inner Indiana Jones with games, crafts and activities while trying to find that elusive National Treasurer. Hope this peaks your interest! No camp Friday, July 4.

July 7 - 11 HOW SWEET IT IS!
Are you a junk food junky? Well not this week. We will discover how to make some great tasting food that is actually nutritious. Actually this week will be geared to the well child and how to eat properly. During this week there will be a heath nutritionist working with the campers on proper food and Athletic Trainer working on fun exercise techniques. This week is guaranteed to be on your fun list.

July 14 - 18 SURVIVAL INSTINCTS
Do you love the wild? We will take a trip on the nature trail to discover how indigenous animals, insects and trees survive. We are securing bug nets, plaster of Paris, baby food jars and we are off to investigate and observe.

July 21 - 25 FROST BITTEN
Grab your mittens and ear muffs. We are beating the heat with water games and activities that are played in the winter. Duck here comes a snowball!

July 28 - August 1 STEP RIGHT UP! COME ONE, COME ALL!
Ever wonder what it takes to set up a Mid-way carnival, well that it just what will happen. Take part in games, crafts, designing the carnival booths and making all the goodies that go with this fun atmosphere. Family Fun Night will be Friday, August 1.

August 4 - 8 Musical Montage
Yep it is the last week of camp! We are out to discover our camper’s musical talents. Bring in your Original Songs or sing with the Karaoke Machine we will help put the whole thing to a story line with video. “Your Limo is waiting”.
