Parks and Recreation | Oakland New Directions
The New Directions Learning Academy is a unique program that allows students to receive a diploma from their sponsoring high school. Enrollment is easy! If you are a Shawnee County resident, 18 years of age or older and whose class has already graduated, or you have a GED and you want to earn a high school diploma: Choose a flexible schedule and the number of hours you want to attend a week. Pay a $20 enrollment fee. New Directions' staff will coordinate any necessary communication with the high school you last attended.New Directions Learning Academy
This unique program allows you to receive a diploma from your sponsoring high school. Enrollment is easy! If you are 18 years of age or older and your class has already graduated, or you have a GED and you want to earn a high school diploma, please call 234-9887. Courses offered include all the graduation requirements in Math, Science, English, and Social Studies and a variety of electives. For $20 you can attend from August until May during the hours that fit your schedule. Stop by the school and enroll.
- Hours: Monday – Thursday 8:30 am – 9 pm
- Friday 8:30 am – 3 pm
- Saturday and Sunday CLOSED
Courses offered include all of the graduate requirements in Math, Science, English and Social Studies and a variety of electives, such as:
- Computer classes
Keyboarding, PageMaker
