Topeka is the home of two skate parks. Users are encouraged to use appropriate equipment when at the skate parks.

Mousetrap. Opened in October 2000, Topeka's first skate park provides area skateboarders, in-line skaters and bicyclers a state-of-the-art facility rivaling any skate park in the Midwest. It is an outdoor facility located in Oakland-Billard Park next to the Oakland Community Center, the Oakland Pool, and the Shunga Trail.

Eight separate features are available for youth and adults of all skill levels in this 10,000 square foot facility. No supervision is provided. Users are encouraged to use appropriate equipment. For more information, contact briphahn@topeka.org, telephone 368-3838 or Oakland Community Center at 368-3793.

Double launch ramps with elevated flat rail down the center.

Land rail
A metal rail built with two elevations, 20 feet in length, and used for grinds and slides of various kinds.

Bank to bank
Two separate 4 foot high ramps built with a 36 inch foot gap separation.

Feature obstacle
A bowl with a 4.5 foot high winding teardrop. A run-up with a curved ledge platform on one end, and eight steps with center rail and straight ledge drop-off on the opposite end.

Future feature
The concrete pad is in lace for the future installation of a half-pipe on the south end of the skate park, when funding becomes available.
