The Oakland Community Center, located in the Oakland (northeast) section of Topeka, has been serving people of all ages with classes, programs, and special events since 1977.

Activities include sports, athletic, and fitness activities, crafts, preschool programs, New Directions High School Diploma completion classes, computer classes, tours, youth activities, youth at risk programs, and seasonal events.
The Center also serves as a community meeting hall, hosting the Oakland Neighborhood Improvement Association and other groups, and can be rented for private functions such as birthday parties, wedding receptions, etc. The Center also houses a Community Police Officer and a satellite clinic of the Shawnee County Health Agency.
Oakland Community Center is located in Oakland Billard Park, which includes the Oakland swimming pool (outdoor seasonal pool), the
Mousetrap Skateboard Park, baseball and softball diamonds, and the Shunga Trail.
