Parks and Recreation of Topeka has plans build the first accessible baseball diamond in Kansas!
In 2005, Cumulus Broadcasting approached us with a great idea to build an accessible baseball diamond in Topeka. So we are converting Gage Park Diamond #6 into a one-of-a kind, custom-designed baseball complex. Schwerdtz Design Group, Inc. has developed a design that will incorporate a cushioned synthetic turf that accommodates wheelchairs and other walking assistive devices while helping to prevent injuries. In other words, it will provide a level playing field where adults and youth with disabilities can hit, run, and catch - just like the best of them!
But we need your help!
The Capital Miracle Field is an idea that will never hit home without the help and support of our community. The Topeka Parks and Recreation Foundation is heading up the fundraising efforts needed to make this dream become reality. Any donation you can make, large or small, will mean a priceless experience for area athletes with disabilities.
All donations are tax deductible and will be deposited into the Parks and Recreation Foundation’s Capital Miracle Field account, a 501(c)3 fund. If interested in donating money or in-kind services, please contact Jabeth Coachman.
Currently, we are able to accept CHECK donations only. Make checks payable to: Parks and Recreation Foundation with Capital Miracle Field in the memo line. Mail your contribution to:
