Yard Materials Recycling Facility (YMRF)
YMRF, located just northeast of I-70 and MacVicar is open 6 days a week, Monday-Saturday (except holidays) from 8am-12 noon and 1-4:45pm. Costs for dumping or mulch are $10-$20 for a pickup truck or trailer and $20-$60 for a truck larger than a pickup truck. Only organic materials including grass, leaves, brush and trees are acceptable. No inorganic materials such as treated lumber, rocks, cement, plastic bags, etc. will be accepted. Firewood cutting permits are sold at $5 for a one-day permit. Compost is available for $15/cubic yard.

The Forestry Section also has wood chips for sale at the YMRF. The cost is $15 per pickup. These chips can be used in the home landscape as mulch. Benefits from the use of woodchips as mulch include improved soil quality, better water retention, playground safety surface, and a microclimate that is more conducive to plant health. Colored mulch is also available for $40 per yard. It’s available in brown, red and black. An attendant will be available to load chips for you.
