Parks and Recreation | Forestry

The Forestry Section is responsible for the maintenance of trees on all right-of-ways and parks within the City of Topeka. If you have questions about City trees or would like more information, please call 368-3700.

The Forestry Section also has wood chips for sale at the YMRF. These chips can be used in the home landscape as mulch. Benefits from the use of woodchips as mulch include improved soil quality, better water retention, playground safety surface, and a microclimate that is more conducive to plant health. An attendant will be available to load chips for you.

Hours of Operation
Monday-Friday: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Saturday: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Sunday: closed
