Rule 21: Appeals
21.1 An appeal must be taken within ten (10) days; exclusive of weekends and legal
holidays, after sentence is imposed. The notice of appeal should be filed with the
Shawnee County District Court Clerk’s office and an appropriate appeal bond may
be set as provided by Kansas statutes. If a party desires to file an appeal in
Municipal Court, then costs equal to the current filing fee in Shawnee County District
Court will be required before the request for appeal will be accepted and filed.
