Youth and Social Service Information
These funds are used to address problems and to pursue opportunities relating to youth and social service populations. The City combines two funding sources to make these grants possible:
- City General Funds and
- Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funds. Because these funding sources have compatible project requirements, eligible projects will often meet the requirements for both funding sources.
- 2006 Youth and Social Services Grant Awards
Emergency Shelter Grant funds are available for grantees that provide projects and activities that benefit low to moderate-income persons. Low to moderate-income is defined as a household at or below 80% of the area median family income. The areas of emphasis are Shelter Operations; Shelter Rehabilitization and/or Renovation; Homeless Prevention and Essential Services. Rachelle Vega-Muniz at 785-368-4490.
