Housing & Neighborhood Development | CDBG and Home Funds

Background
The City of Topeka is the annual recipient of federal Community Developer Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program. HOME Program funds are administered by the City's Housing & Neighborhood Development Department to meet federal, City and community goals. Funding for this entitlement program is received annually and is based upon formulas established by Congress. Funding varies from year to year depending upon the federal budget.

The Housing & Neighborhood Development Department utilizes CDBG HOME Program financing to fund several different programs including homebuyer assistance, rehabilitation of existing homes, rental property rehabilitation and new construction of affordable housing.
