TOPEKA, Kan. – The City of Topeka will host another Development Review Forum at 11 a.m., May 7, in the Holliday Conference Room, 620 SE Madison. This forum shares key information from the City of Topeka that could impact those in the development and construction industries. It is also an effort to gather input on the City’s processes, and on any proposed changes.
City of Topeka Planning Director Bill Fiander will lead the meeting. The agenda includes three items: calibration of the city’s zoning code for non-commercial uses, bicycle parking standards, and utility system fees.
Current Planning Manager Bill Hoover will discuss the Planning Department’s proposed calibration of non-commercial zoning uses to ensure the uses and zoning districts are aligned to meet today’s needs. He will also discuss the proposed requirement that all new commercial and multi-family developments provide bicycle parking. City Utilities Superintendent Don Rankin will give an overview of developer fees required for new water/sewer connections, otherwise known as system fees.
