Clean Air Ordinance information

The City of Topeka has a Clean Air Ordinance, effective December 4, 2009, that prohibits smoking in public places. The primary purposes of the ordinance are to improve and protect the public’s health by eliminating smoking in public places and places of employment and protect the right of non-smokers to breathe smoke-free air. To help educate businesses and the general public about the ordinance, the City of Topeka is providing the following information:
Downloadable sign samples below. Store-bought “No -Smoking” signs should have bold lettering of not less than one inch in height. The international “No- Smoking” symbol may also be used.
