What Is Next
The Metropolitan Planning Organization has adopted the project in the Topeka/Shawnee County Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) and the local Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).

The citizens of Shawnee County have approved funding through a ½ cent sales tax.

The City’s consulting firm of Finney & Turnipseed, Transportation & Civil Engineering, L.L.P. has submitted final plans, specification and cost estimates to KDOT. The anticipated schedule follows:

• Receive Bids April 2006
• Begin Construction June 2006
• Complete Construction August 2008
