City of Topeka Americans with Disabilities Act Advisory Council
5 Vacant Positions. Mission: To support the civil rights of and full integration into Topeka community life, for all persons with disabilities. Nominees must reside within the city limits. Nominees must be individuals with disabilities in one or more of the six major life functions of vision, hearing, walking, speaking, learning or breathing. The board meets the 3rd Monday of each month at 1 p.m. at the Holliday Building.

Jayhawk Area Agency on Aging – Board of Directors
2 Vacant Positions. Mission: To take under consideration the advisory council recommendations concerning policies and programs that affect older citizens. Nominees must reside within the city limits. The board represents three counties, and meets monthly in either Douglas, Jefferson or Shawnee County. The board meets the second Thursday of each month at 10 a.m., county location varies.

Topeka Sustainability Advisory Board
3 Vacant Positions. Mission: To promote environmental awareness, and to advocate for policies which support sustainability specifically including, but not limited to, environmental awareness, waste reduction, recycling, energy and natural resource conservation in the City of Topeka. Nominees must reside within the city limits. Nominees must be currently licensed, engaged in, or have substantial past experience in the fields of environmental awareness, waste reduction, recycling, energy conservation and/or natural resource conservation, or a similar field relating o the environment or conservation. The board meets the first Friday of each month at 7:30 a.m. at the Topeka/Shawnee County Public Library.
