The Topeka City Council is considering a change to its animal control ordinances. Below is a draft of the Proposed Animal Control Ordinance and a Summary and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) sheet regarding the issue.The proposed ordinance would revamp several animal control provisions to enhance public safety, protect animals and save taxpayers’ dollars.
The Council’s Public Health and Safety Committee will hear public comments about animal control at 4 p.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Community Center, 1800 S.E. 21st St.. The public is encouraged to attend.
