The City of Topeka offers a variety of utility bill payment options. For assistance or questions about any of the payment options, please contact the Customer Call Center at 785-368-3111, M-F, 7AM-6PM.

There are no fees when using the following payment options:

  • Online Pay
  • Direct Payment
  • Mail
  • Drop Box
  • IVR
  • City Express
  • U.S. Bank (all Topeka locations)

Payments made at a non-authorized collection station are not considered received until payment posts to your account.

Online Payment

Our Online Payment service offers up-to-date online views of customer utility accounts, while also providing several convenient payment options. Customers can make one time payments or schedule automatic monthly payments. Payment history, pending payments and account status are all readily available. Register for an online account.

MasterCard, Visa, Discover credit/debit cards and checking accounts are accepted with Online Payments. Please allow 2 days for processing. Do not utilize if your account is past due.

Direct Payment

Direct Payment (autodraft from bank account) is an authorization for your financial institution to pay your utility bill from your checking or savings account. You submit an authorization form once. Afterwards, your financial institution pays your monthly bill on its due date for you. This service can be canceled at any time or transferred to a new service location by calling 785-368-3111.

Sign up for Direct Payment by mailing a completed Direct Payment Authorization Form (include a voided check or savings deposit slip) to the following address:

Customers using Direct Payment receive their monthly bill, and an automatic transaction is verified by the following statement on a bill: “Bank account drafted for (total bill).” Customers should continue to make regular payments until their bill indicates an automatic transaction (usually 2 billing cycles).

Interactive Voice Response System

Interactive Voice Response System (IVR) is an automated method of paying your bill 24/7 by calling 785-368-3111 and by using a MasterCard, Visa or Discover credit/debit card. The automated system uses voice recognition or touch-tones to guide you through the menu. There is no charge for this service, and payments made before midnight are posted the next day.

Drop Box

Enclose check or money order and payment coupon in a sealed envelope and deposit in one of the drop boxes listed below. Please allow 5 business days for processing.

  • Cyrus K Holliday Bldg - 620 SE Madison St (west entrance)
