Meeting cancelled: The meeting regularly scheduled for March 6 will be cancelled. The committee will meet again as scheduled on Thursday, March 13.
Regular meeting time:
The Committee plans to meet every Thursday from 1:00- 3:00 in the Executive Conference Room unless otherwise posted until June 14 when their report is due. The public is welcome to attend. The meeting schedule is also posted on the City’s public calendar.
Members of the public not able to attend the meeting, may send written comments to the Mayor’s Office at 215 East 7th or by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. Comments will be distributed to the committee members and become part of the meeting records.
On Dec. 17, the Governing Body appointed the following citizens to serve on the Citizens Government Review Committee for a period of 6 months beginning January 1, 2014. Members were required to be registered voters living within the City of Topeka. The Committee convened on 1/23/14 and elected Jim Reardon as chairperson to preside. Minutes will be posted to this website as they are available. They are listed in order of the council district in which they reside:

(The Mayor’s Office accepted applications for this committee until December 3, 2013. Members were appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council on December 17, 2013.)
The Committee is to review the form of government of the city and make recommendations to the governing body for amendment or modification. They will issue a report including areas of concern, general findings relative to those concerns, and specific recommendations for alleviating concerns or problems.
The Mayor will convene the first meeting of the members at which the Committee will elect their own chairperson. All meetings for this committee will be open to the public. The first meeting will be held Thursday, January 23 at 1:00 in the Executive Conference Room, Third floor, City Hall, 215 East 7th and is posted on the City’s public calendar.
